'Bad Monkey' Season 2 Casts Zavior Phillips (EXCLUSIVE)

Zavior Phillips has been cast in “Bad Monkey” Season 2 at Apple TV+ in a series regular role, Variety has learned exclusively.
Phillips will appear in the sophomore season of the comedy series alongside lead Vince Vaughn as well as John Malkovich, Yvonne Strahovski, and John Ortiz. The first season was based on the novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen, while the second season will be an original story.
Vaughn stars in the series as Andrew Yancy, a former Miami police detective who know works as a health inspector. In the first season, Yancy is pulled into a wide-ranging conspiracy following the discovery of a severed human arm off the coast of the Florida Keys.
Phillips will play Eddie, who is described as “a CPA investigating financial crimes.”
Phillips is an up and coming actor, writer, and comedian. He was recently selected as one of only four participants in this year’s Just for Laughs’ New Faces: Writers program and was previously named a Comic to Watch at the 2024 New York Comedy Festival. He is currently on tour with Connor Wood, Grace O’Malley, and Maggie Winters. Phillips has written for shows including “Inside Job” at Netflix and Josh Richards’ YouTube show “Read the Room.” His upcoming acting roles include the feature “Double Blind” opposite LaKeith Stanfield and Jon Favreau’s Disney+ limited series about Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
He is repped by Verve and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
“Bad Monkey” was developed for TV by Bill Lawrence, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer via Doozer Productions. Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer also executive produce along with Matt Tarses and Adam Sztykiel. Vaughn executive produces in addition to starring. Warner Bros. Television, where both Doozer and Tarses are under overall deals, is the studio.
