Bill Nye receives star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

LOS ANGELES (Gray News) – Bill Nye received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday.
Nye received his star in the category of television.
It marks the 2,821st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to a news release.
Nye is a science educator, engineer, comedian, television presenter, inventor, keynote speaker and New York Times bestselling author.
He is best known for his 90’s TV series “Bill Nye the Science Guy” that helped introduce generations of viewers to science and engineering in an entertaining and accessible manner.
In a statement, Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said Nye’s star “is a tribute to his dedication in making science accessible and entertaining for all ages through his iconic educational show.”
In January 2025, Nye was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor, in recognition of his dedication to science education.
He currently serves as CEO of The Planetary Society, the world’s largest and most influential non-governmental space organization.
Nye is also a proud member of the National Science Teaching Association and a long-time supporter of the Sierra Club.
