Four years and two months since his last fight in the UFC, fans are only concerned with when it will be possible for Conor McGregor to make his return. Last year, a comeback came close to happening at UFC 303, but that fell apart when the PPV was getting closer. Dana White has mentioned the kind of money McGregor has made as a fighter and a business, doubting that he’ll ever want to fight again, but ‘The Notorious’ insists that he’s not done yet.
Conor McGregor has been calling for a fight at the White House event next year, and Dana White seems to be on board with the idea, although he hasn’t confirmed anything yet. But in the meantime, the former double champion has also shared some comments about his last fight in the UFC and wants to perform in front of a million fans. Here’s what he had to say.

Conor McGregor wants his final fight to take place in a 1 million-capacity venue
Conor McGregor is known for making audacious claims on social media and during interviews. He’s more active on social media than fighting, which is something that most fans would agree with, and recently, he revealed the venue he wants to sum up his career. In 2008, an artist by the name Paul Pfieffer took inspiration from the Sydney Olympic Stadium to build a 1 million-seater stadium known as the Vitruvian Figure. And McGregor, sharing a post about the conceptual stadium on his Instagram stories, said, “I’ve found the location of My Final UFC Fight.”
Well, the biggest audience for a single UFC event was recorded a few years ago when Israel Adesanya fought Robert Whittaker at UFC 243. That night at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, a total of 57,127 fans attended the pay-per-view event. So yes, having a million fans witnessing Conor McGregor fight is one thing, which could happen since people will be watching the show from the comfort of their homes. But having a venue with the capacity to hold so many fans is another thing, since there is no real arena that can hold so many fans.

As far as Conor McGregor’s UFC career is concerned, he’s still got two fights left on his current contract. While we can’t be too sure about his wish to compete in front of a million souls, we can be a bit confident about the possibility of watching him fight at the White House. That’s because the former double champion has revealed his opponent as well.

McGregor named his White House opponent
There are quite a few fighters that Conor McGregor has named, expressing his wish to fight them. Stars like Nate Diaz in MMA and Manny Pacquiao in boxing have been on the Irishman’s radar for a while. Since we’re talking about the fight at the White House, we can keep boxing aside for now. There is no way to see a trilogy fight with Diaz at the moment since the Stockton native is not signed with the UFC. So, that’s out of the question, which leaves McGregor with Michael Chandler, who’s been waiting for over two years for the fight.

Well, guess what? Michael Chandler could finally be getting his wish next year because Conor McGregor wants him at the White House event. “The Mac is excited to get back for sure. I’m on it (the White House fight card). I am. This is me. Michael Chandler. Michael Chandler and myself have done the show, The Ultimate Fighter. We’ve got a good back and forth. He’s a good, tough guy,” Conor McGregor stated on FOX & Friends.
Conor McGregor picking Michael Chandler is no surprise because he had previously mentioned having “unfinished business” with the former lightweight title contender. The White House tease is not new either. It remains to be seen if that’s also what Dana White wants, but what do you think about ‘The Mac’s idea of a 1 million-seater arena? Drop your comments below.
