Residents of Dottamanji stage road blockade in Krishnagiri

Residents of Dottamanji hill hamlet staged road blockade on Hogenakkal-Anchetty road demanding basic amenities on Tuesday (September 23, 2025). Residents, primarily women from one of the most backward blocks, gathered on Hogenakkal road blocking the stretch with the key demand of road and bus facilities to their villages.

The unmotorable roads to the hamlet have been a huge deterrent against access to basic amenities and the visibility of people to the authorities.

According to the protesters, the unmotorable roads have undercut access to basic health care, governance demands and education for their children. They demanded an assurance from the Block Development Officer (BDO), who arrived at the spot, for a road to Dottamanji panchayat. The BDO addressed the protesters and said that action would be taken at the earliest. Following this, the residents withdrew their protest.
