The Wenchi Sports Stadium, also known as Nana Abrefa Nketia XII park, has received a facelift to meet the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Club Licensing criteria.
The stadium was rejected by the Club Licensing Authority before the start of the Ghana Premier League, forcing Young Apostles FC to play their first home game against Medeama SC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I park in Dormaa.
The stadium now boasts improved facilities, including upgraded seating, a well-maintained pitch, and enhanced amenities for players and fans.
The Wenchi Sports Stadium will host Young Apostles FC (Ghana Premier League) and VC Warriors SC (Division One League).
A state-of-the-art football park in Wenchi was commissioned by Bono Regional Minister Hon. Justina Owusu-Banahene in September 2024.
The renovation is expected to boost sporting activities in Wenchi, benefiting local businesses and the community.
