Scottie Scheffler is gearing up to lead the United States against Europe in the Ryder Cup. Scheffler took to Instagram to share photos of Team USA’s initial practice session.
The legendary golfer posted a photo to his Instagram Story on Monday, September 22, 2025, of the Team USA huddle. Scheffler kept it simple with his caption just posting an American flag emoji above the image.
The golfer also added some additional photos from the United States’ Ryder Cup practice.
“POV: Ryder Cup Week 🇺🇸,” Scheffler said while sharing practice photos in a September 22, message.
Here’s what you need to know about Scheffler and the Ryder Cup.
Scottie Scheffler won the Procore Championship in Preparation for the Ryder Cup
Instead of the extended layoff between the Tour Championship and Ryder Cup, Scheffler attempted to stay sharp by competing at the Procore Championship. Scheffler did just that by winning the Procore Championship and the golfer explained his thought process ahead of the Ryder Cup.
“Two years ago for Rome we did that trip over there [in advance of the Ryder Cup] to get ready for the golf course,” Scheffler noted during a Septembe 10, media session, per Sports Illustrated. “Basically, the conclusion that we came to was it would be nice to have some competition going into the Ryder Cup. And it would be unusual for me to have four or five weeks off before the Masters or the U.S. Open or something like that, so there’s no reason that I should be doing that going into the Ryder Cup.
“I’m always focused on my preparation, that’s most important to me. So in order to stay sharp— you can practice and do all you can at home, but there’s something different about playing competition, getting ready for a tournament and I think this will be good prep.”
Jerry Jones on Donald Trump: ‘I Get a Call or a Text From Him Sometimes After Wins’
Days before the Ryder Cup, Scheffler opened up on Donald Trump’s role at the tournament. Scheffler also reflected on his impression of being with the president.
“The president’s kind of funny,” Scheffler remarked during a September 23, press conference. “He loves the game of golf. He loves supporting golfers, and I get a call or a text from him sometimes after wins. And he just loves the game of golf and he’s one of those guys when you’re around him, he does such a good job of almost like feeding confidence into everybody around him. That was one of the things I noticed a lot with the little bit of time I spent with him is he treats everybody the same and treats people with the utmost respect.
“Whether you’re the person serving us lunch or the caddie on the golf course or the guy who is the president of the club that we’re at, he treats everybody like they’re the greatest person in the world. And I don’t think he has any plans to address us as a team (at the Ryder Cup), but I’m sure if things go well, we’ll hear from him.”
