In a viral post shared on Monday, a social-media user revealed a senior dog’s elaborate plan to steal their lunch, and internet users can’t cope with it.
The hilarious post, shared on Reddit by u/ bugraccoon, shows their sister’s dog posing for the camera after getting caught stealing the poster’s sandwich with a genius plan that had them fooled.
The poster was about to eat when the pup insistently asked them to go outside, so they did—but they weren’t ready for what happened next.
“My (sister’s) dog begged to go outside so I waited for her on the porch. She looped around the house, went through the back door and ATE my chicken sandwich off the table while I was still waiting for her, I just can’t win with her,” the caption reads.

Chicken is actually a good source of protein for dogs. However, you should always be careful having your pup around your food, because some of the things that we regularly eat without issues can actually be toxic to them.
Some of the most-toxic human foods include chocolate, coffee, and caffeine, which contain substances that can cause vomiting, seizures, heart issues, or death. Xylitol, a sweetener found in gum and toothpaste, can trigger a dangerous drop in blood sugar and lead to liver failure.
Macadamia nuts are also toxic and may cause tremors, weakness, and vomiting. Grapes and raisins are especially risky, as they can cause sudden kidney failure, even in small amounts. Garlic, onions, and related plants can damage red blood cells and lead to anemia. Alcohol and raw yeast dough pose serious threats as well, potentially causing poisoning, bloating, or even coma.
Other foods that aren’t necessarily toxic, but can still cause health problems, include dairy products, which may lead to digestive issues because many dogs lack the enzyme to break down lactose. Too much salt can trigger vomiting and seizures, especially in canines with heart or kidney disease.
Raw meat and eggs can carry harmful bacteria, and bones may cause choking or internal damage. Even citrus, coconut, and some nuts can upset your dog’s stomach.
On the other hand, human foods that pups can safely eat in moderation include cooked meats, vegetables, and fruits such as apples, bananas, watermelons, blueberries, raspberries and pineapples.
