The University of Delhi students will cast their vote tomorrow, September 18. Security has been tightened across the university campus. Police have deployed additional forces and new surveillance measures. Extra CCTV cameras have been set up at key locations on and around the campus. 160 body-worn cameras have been issued to personnel to ensure strict monitoring during the DUSU elections. Vehicles with tinted glasses would be checked, and those without number plates would be seized. “These steps are aimed at ensuring full coverage of the area, maintaining law and order, and preventing any untoward incident during the election period,” a senior police officer said. “Officers on duty will immediately inform the senior officers in case of an emergency. Women officers have also been deployed at pickets near the campus,” the officer further said. On the final day of campaigning for the DUSU elections, NSUI and ABVP clashed at Delhi University’s Kirori Mal College. The violence occurred shortly before UP Congress president Ajay Rai’s visit to support NSUI candidates. NSUI accused ABVP of attacking its Purvanchal student supporters. ABVP countered and blamed Congress and NSUI for bringing outsiders and disrupting peace. Police were deployed following the clash. DUSU Election Schedule 2025 1. Counting of Votes: 19 September 2025 DU warns colleges as candidates lure students before DUSU pollsThe Delhi University administration had issued an urgent advisory to all colleges. The university earlier issued a warning against attempts by certain candidates to lure students with movies, adventure parks, and other recreational activities ahead of the DUSU elections. The Proctor’s Office noted that buses are being stationed outside college gates to transport students, particularly females, for such activities. Colleges have been instructed to maintain strict vigilance and ensure no such incidents occur on or near campus.
