Vice-Chancellor of University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) Raichur M. Hanumanthappa has said that if postgraduate students develop discipline and commitment and carry out research, farmers in particular and society in general will stand to benefit.
He was addressing students at the National Postgraduate Research Conference at the UAS in Raichur on Tuesday organised in memory of noted agricultural scientist S.A. Patil.
The conference was organised by the Postgraduate Directorate of Universities of Agricultural Science.
Dr. Humanthappa said that UAS has provided the required facilities for students to help them with the research process.
“Students should undertake research in areas such as climate change, sensor-based irrigation, artificial intelligence, geographic information technology, e-SAP, etc., and exchange the knowledge that they have gained to ensure that quality research is done,” he added.
He also advised that students should accept results on presentation of essays and posters positively and strengthen research that they undertake.
Education Director (retired) of UAS M.G. Patil suggested that students should undertake research that helps farmers.
“Students should have discussions with farmers to understand facts, problems and challenges of the agriculture sector,” he added.
Member of the UAS Administration Committee Mallikarjun, Narayanarao, Mallikarjun Ayyanagoudar, Gururaj Sunkad, Mahadevswamy, Suma and others were present.
