Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy and former NFL star Greg Olsen got into a heated exchange during Monday’s Wake Up Barstool episode.
Olsen, who is currently an NFL analyst with FOX Sports, appeared on Monday’s Wake Up Barstool show alongside Jon Gruden when Dave Portnoy started making fun of what he was wearing.
“Well, I mean, the shirt with the hat… a logo-less hat, it looks like you’re heading straight to the NLCS or something to call a game,” Portnoy said.
Greg Olsen clearly didn’t like Portnoy going after his outfit and comparing him to an umpire.
“Well, the hat is just because I haven’t done my hair this morning,” Olsen said, before firing back at Portnoy.
“Hey, listen, I’m just going to be honest, if I’m going to keep getting a hard time from this show, I might just bag Monday mornings and just be like, ‘You know what? You guys are on your own. Deal with it. Good luck.’”
Portnoy then reminded Olsen that he missed last week’s show because he overslept.
“You did bag it last week, by the way,” Portnoy said.
“I might bag it again next week,” Olsen shot back.
The 40-year-old Olsen then took a play out of Portnoy’s book and went after his appearance.
“At what point are you like Mr. Fashion? You’ve got some bad outfits. You’re real critical of everybody else’s look for a guy who’s not the best looking guy in the world. Let’s just be clear,” Olsen said.
“Well, there’s a difference between not great looking and fashion. I can’t control how I look. This is how God made me,” Portnoy said. “But I can wear nice clothes and not look like no effort over here.”
Perhaps Portnoy and Olsen were just messing around and entertaining the audience, but Olsen in particular certainly didn’t seemed thrilled with Portnoy’s commentary.
It will be interesting to see if he remains on the show moving forward or if he does indeed “bag Monday mornings” next week and beyond.
