It’s unclear just how much Tom Brady is getting paid for his flag football tournament in Saudi Arabia, but it’s apparently not the $75 million founder Dave Portnoy claimed.
On Monday, the Barstool Sports founder revealed the hefty price tag on “Wake Up Barstool.“ The video clip of Portnoy claiming as such made its way to Brady, who responded on X.
“Are we just picking numbers out of a hat and reporting them? While we’re breaking news… Elvis is doing the halftime show, and Babe Ruth is gonna sign some autographs for fans. Also I heard Dave prefers floppy pizza. Who cares about facts right?,” Brady wrote, ending his post with the crying laughing emoji.
Portnoy responded that he was told the $75 million price tag by people he trusted and that he asked Brady to come on “Wake Up Barstool” to discuss.
Brady announced prior to the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 2 matchup that he was teaming up with Fanatics, FOX Sports and OBB Media for The Fanatics Flag Football Classic.
The three-team, round-robin tournament will begin March 21, 2026 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Brady won’t be the only big name taking part in the tournament. Rob Gronkowski, Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb and Maxx Crosby are among the other participants.
Pete Carroll, Sean Payton and Kyle Shanahan will be the three coaches, and the teams will consist of former and current NFL players, other professional athletes and celebrities.
In May, the NFL voted to allow its players to play flag football in the 2028 Summer Olympics.
