EXCLUSIVE: Production is underway on U.S. indie film Eyes of Salt, starring James Pratt (Malibu Crush), Bernice Liu (The Legend Is Born: Ip Man), Randy Charach (Vanished), Erin Anne Gray (Catfish Killer), and Melody Law (Bankshot).
The drama follows Tanner (Pratt), a New York playboy who returns to his estranged father’s seaside home after 30 years carrying a secret that threatens to unravel what’s left of their fractured relationship.
Liu, known for action titles The King of Fighters, The Hitman Never Dies and the long-running Hong Kong TV series Virtues of Harmony, will play Estelle, who is described as a key player in Tanner’s journey.
The film is produced by Haley Lynch (Twelve) and Sasha Wasserman (FashionTV Asia), with Justin L. Levine (Wingman) serving as executive producer. Carly Granovsky is the casting director, while Bounty Entertainment has secured distribution rights for Australia and New Zealand.
Rounding out the ensemble cast are Kev Hannibal (Dana’s Dream), Mark Sturzenegger, and Damian Nixey (Malibu Crush). Filming is taking place between Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles.
Pratt, who also directs the film, said: “Beneath the beauty of the ocean lies a storm of unresolved pasts and only by facing it can the characters connect.”
