A former police officer who once lost his license over a domestic incident and now works as a private investigator was arrested last week outside Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce’s mansion in Leawood, Kansas, a suburb about 20 minutes south of Kansas City, Missouri, according to a report based on court documents and published on Monday by Star Magazine.
Though the Leawood police report cited by the magazine did not list a reason for 48-year-old Justin Lee Fisher’s arrest, “an additional court document obtained exclusively by Star confirms Fisher has been charged with jumping the fence onto a private residence in a private neighborhood,” the magazine reported.
The arrest took place at about 2 a.m. on September 15, the report said. Whether Swift or, for that matter, Kelce was present at the mansion at the time of the arrest remains unclear. A private security firm called the police on the alleged trespasser, the report said.
According to both Star, and a separate report by TMZ, Fisher was acting as a process server, and was attempting to find Kelce’s fiancé, the pop music megastar Taylor Swift, to serve her with deposition papers in connection with a lawsuit involving actor and director Justin Baldoni and actress Blake Lively over Lively’s participation in Baldoni’s film It Ends With Us.
Swift Dragged Into BFF’s Legal Battle
Swift was involuntarily dragged into the legal feud because Baldoni alleges that Swift — a friend, or former friend, of Lively — along with Lively’s movie star husband Ryan Reynolds attempted to pressure Baldoni into accepting changes to a scene in the film demanded by Lively.
Baldoni has sought since at least May to compel Swift to sit for a sworn deposition in the case. But Swift has resisted. And on September 12, a federal judge ruled that Swift would not be required to be deposed by Baldoni’s legal team, according to the Hollywood business site Deadline.com.
Why Fisher was attempting to serve papers on Swift three days after the judge had ruled she would not need to testify in a deposition remained unclear. Also unclear, according to to Star, was whether Fisher had been hired by Baldoni’s legal team at all.
“I’ll be happy to talk to you about it when it is resolved,” Fisher said in a text message quoted by the magazine. “[I] wasn’t hurt or anything besides being arrested for doing my job and possibly losing my [private eye] license.”
Former Cop Reportedly Once Had License Pulled
The former police officer worked as a Fort Scott, Kansas, police officer from 2013 to 2021 and then served as “a part time ‘law enforcement officer’ until 2023 when his license was revoked for five years following an April 21, 2023 domestic incident with his wife,” according to Star, citing documents by the Kansas Commission on Peace Officer’s Standards and Training.
Fisher is now listed a licensed private eye, though the magazine’s report said that he has no business name or public website.
Swift is a godmother to one of Lively’s children with Reynolds, but according to reports the legal imbroglio has put a strain on their friendship. The case itself is bitter and sordid, beginning with Lively accusing Baldoni of sexually harassing her on the set of It Ends With Us.
