What is UL Lafayette Enrollment fall 2025

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette enrolled its largest freshman class in history and saw overall enrollment grow compared to last year.
The school welcomed 3,214 first-time freshmen for fall 2025, a nearly 5% increase over last year, the university said in a news release Monday afternoon.
Its overall enrollment grew to 19,723 students, nearly 3% more when compared to last fall. Of those enrolled in the university, about 16,000 are degree-seeking students. The other more than 3,600 students are enrolled in training courses, professional and continuing education programs, and seeking certifications.
“Students and families are choosing the University because it offers a combination of excellent academics, a fun and supportive environment, and top-tier research opportunities,” said DeWayne Bowie, vice president for enrollment management.
The freshman class, expected to graduate in 2029, is made up of students from 448 high schools who hold a mean cumulative high school GPA of 3.59 and a composite ACT score of about 25, the school announced.
Undergraduate enrollment for the university grew by nearly 3% and grew about 3.5% for graduate students, which includes those seeking a master’s degree or enrolled in a doctoral program.
The school’s online learning program is also growing. There are 2,134 students enrolled in those programs, a 9% growth compared to last fall.
Most of the university’s students — 90% — are from Louisiana. Students also come from 46 other U.S. states and territories and 82 countries.
Fall enrollment numbers for other Louisiana institutions are rolling in. The University of New Orleans saw a decrease in enrollment compared to last year, with about 5,700 students. McNeese State University saw its largest enrollment increase in 20 years and has 6,556 enrolled students.
