Tickets for 2026 FIFA World Cup go on sale Wednesday morning

The first phase of the highly anticipated 2026 World Cup tickets will be rolling out on Wednesday morning.

FIFA previously announced that the first phase of sales begins at 11 a.m., with exclusive initial access for Visa cardholders.

Fans who manage to gain access can expect to pay anywhere from $60 for group stage tickets to $6,730 for the most exclusive seats at the final, where two teams will compete for the trophy.

“With just ten months to go until the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, we are excited to launch the first phase of ticket sales for the tournament,” said Heimo Schirgi, Chief Operating Officer of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“This is a momentous milestone as we prepare for this historic event, and we look forward to millions of fans joining us across North America next June,” he continued.

How to register to purchase tickets for the 2026 World Cup matches

Fans wishing to purchase tickets must first register and create a FIFA ID at FIFA.com/tickets .

The Visa pre-sale sweepstakes closes at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 19.

Qualifying Visa cardholders will be able to log in during this window using their FIFA ID to enter the draw. Fans must be 18 years or older to participate.

After a random selection process, successful applicants will be notified by email starting Monday, Sept. 29, and given a date to purchase tickets, with times available starting Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Here’s how FIFA’s additional ticket sales phases will work:

If you’re unable to secure tickets immediately, there will be additional sales phases. According to FIFA, the next phases will begin in October 2025 and run through to the final on July 19, 2026.

Phase 2: (Early bird draw) The registration window for this phase is scheduled for Oct. 27–31. Ticket purchase slots will be held between mid-November and early December. As in the first phase, the process will consist of an application followed by a random selection. Selected applicants will receive a slot to purchase tickets.

Phase 3: (Random selection draw) Registration will begin after the final World Cup draw. During this phase, fans will be able to submit applications for specific matches once the final draw has revealed the majority of the group stage matchups.

Other ticket options: Closer to the tournament, fans will be able to purchase remaining inventory on a first-come, first-served basis, according to FIFA.

Fans can now purchase single-match or multi-match hospitality packages, which include match tickets, at FIFA.com/hospitality. FIFA encouraged fans to purchase tickets exclusively through its website.

FIFA also announced it will launch an official resale platform for eligible ticket holders at FIFA.com/tickets later this year. Residents of Mexico will have access to a FIFA Ticket Exchange Platform.
