They don't like me — Harry Kane ready to break Chelsea hearts in UCL clash

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is keen to continue his fine scoring run against Chelsea when both sides clash in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Harry Kane is eager to continue his fine record against Chelsea, as Bayern look to start their UCL run with a win.

The England captain faced Chelsea 22 times in all competitions while at Tottenham, winning seven of those encounters and scoring eight goals before his move to Bayern in 2023.

Kane ready to relive familiar rivalry with Chelsea

Reflecting on his past encounters, Kane admitted that the high stakes of a Premier League match add a unique dynamic to the fixture.

“The rivalry was a good rivalry, especially early in my Tottenham career in the [Mauricio] Pochettino era. We had a lot of good games, tough games against each other,” Kane told the club’s website.

Kane revealed that the animosity he receives from opposition supporters only serves as a source of fuel for his performances. He explained that playing against familiar Premier League opponents gives him an extra edge.

“I think playing against Premier League opposition there’s always a little more expectation around the game. Maybe the Chelsea fans don’t like me as much and when we play Arsenal, maybe the Arsenal fans don’t like me as much.”

He went on to state that this dislike only motivates him further.

“That makes me want to play better, that motivates me. There will be some familiar faces – all those things added together brings a little something special.”
