People have been raving about a plug-in radiator that could be ‘better than putting the heating on’ to stay warm. It comes as temperatures outside plummet to around half of what Brits experienced over the summer, alongside wet and windy autumnal weather. Dunelm is selling a £28 heater , which shoppers say has the power to “warm a room quickly” for just 45p worth of electricity per hour. The homeware retailer recently started promoting its range of heating devices alongside other cold-weather essentials. The self-appointed ‘Home of Homes’ is offering shoppers the 2000W Convector Heater , which is “perfect for keeping warm this winter”, according to the store’s website. It comes with three different heat settings to offer various temperatures, as well as overheating protection. Dunelm bosses add that this heater “can make any room the perfect temperature “. The freestanding unit comes with a handy carry handle, making it “easy” to take from room-to-room if certain parts of your home need ‘an extra boost’. Alternative heaters can be bought from other shops. One option is Argos’ Bush 2kW Convector Heater for £30 or Amazon’s Geepas 2000W Convection Heater , which is also priced at £29.99. But, the Dunelm option has dozens of glowing reviews online from people who have already been snapping up the heater before the weather gets any colder. One said: “What a great little heater. Silent and powerful enough to warm any room up within a few minutes.” Another said: “Very good heater. It does a good job at heating the room, hasn’t made the electric bills high at all. Highly recommend, totally worth the money!” A third commented: “Fabulous! It heat’s up room in no time and is better than putting the heating on.” Someone else shared: “The heat that comes from [the heater] is amazing. Within an hour my living room was so warm and cosy and that was on a bitterly cold morning.” However, some shoppers did have issues with their unit. A few claimed their products arrived damaged, while others said their heaters “just stopped working” after a few uses. One claimed: “The heater worked just over a week and now has stopped working. So disappointing because it would heat up the room real quick.” Another added: “Projects little to no heat even on the highest setting. Came dented where the leg stand was meant to go.” People wanting to order a 2000W Convector Heater can arrange for click and collect at their nearest Dunelm store at no added cost. For delivery, prices start from £3.95 for standard delivery or it can be rushed with an express fee of £5.95.
