Russell Wilson Has a Message for Giants Fans Clamoring for QB Change

The New York Giants have lost three straight games to start the 2025 season, and the team’s fans are demanding a change.
They did so loudly and under the national media spotlight during their Week 3 “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the winless Kansas City Chiefs at MetLife Stadium.
The Chiefs walked out with their first victory of the season, and Giants fans sent a clear message about how they really feel about quarterback Russell Wilson.
The 36-year-old passer was the object of much of the fan derision, as Giants supporters chanted for rookie signal-caller Jaxson Dart to replace the former Pro Bowler. The Bleacher Report Gridiron X account shared a video of the chant on social media.
While speaking to reporters after the game, Wilson responded to questions about the fanbase’s displeasure with his play and the calling for him to be benched.
“Yeah, there are highs and lows and always tough moments. You know, you got to have thick skin, you know what I mean?” Wilson said, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN. “You got to be able to know who you are, the player that you are, know what you’re capable of.”
New York mustered just nine points in a losing effort to the Chiefs two weeks after Wilson and company put up only six points in a loss to the division rival Washington Commanders.

In fairness to the offense and to Wilson, the Giants did produce 37 points in an overtime road loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, led by Wilson’s 450 passing yards and three touchdowns.
But Wilson was bad in Week 1 — completing 17 of 37 passes for just 168 yards — and he returned to a similar level of production against Kansas City, completing just over 56% of his pass attempts for 160 yards and two interceptions.
The veteran QB acknowledged his poor play against the Chiefs, but called back to what the offense accomplished against a lesser defense on the road in Dallas the weekend prior as evidence of what the Giants can achieve on that side of the football.
“Obviously, I’ve been able to show that throughout my career and, obviously, last week and everything else, too, what we’re capable of as an offense,” Wilson continued. “I think they made a couple more plays than us [Sunday night]. I think it was a 9-6 game for most of the game. Pretty tight. We needed one or two big plays. Unfortunately, didn’t come our way.”
