Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones looked absolutely stunning as she graced the red carpet at the 2025 Emmy Awards last weekend. Better yet, she appeared to look younger than ever.
Zeta-Jones, 55, stole the show, arriving solo in a figure-hugging, black lace, strapless dress by Yara Shoemaker, which featured a sheer, scalloped neckline and a sequined skirt.
She paired the gorgeous gown with strappy black heels and dangling teardrop diamond earrings.
Her makeup look included a black smoky eye, a shimmering nude lip and light blush, showing off her glowing facial features.
Now, a board-certified plastic surgeon is sharing his opinions on the possible procedures Zeta-Jones could have had done – and it is nothing too drastic.
Oregon-based Dr Sean McNally, who has not treated the star, told the Daily Mail it appears she may have had an upper blepharoplasty, which removes excess skin from the eyelids.
McNally said: ‘Looking at photos from 10 years ago, she had more excess upper eyelid skin.
‘While things like CO2 laser resurfacing can help with this, it’s much more likely she had an upper blepharoplasty, which is very common.’
The procedure typically heals in about two to four weeks, per Harvard Health, making it an extremely popular choice in Hollywood.
However, it does not come cheap. The ‘tweakment’ can cost nearly $20,000 if a patient opts for both the upper and lower lids.
But that may be the only time Zeta-Jones has gone under the knife, if she has at all, the doctor explained.
‘I don’t see telltale signs of a facelift or brow lift based on those photos.’
However, he did see potential signs of some less invasive procedures.
‘Her cheeks have more volume than 10 years ago, which isn’t what happens over time as we age. This could be due to either fat grafting or filler.’
McNally also suggested that Zeta-Jones – known for acting roles in Ocean’s Twelve and Chicago – may have also had Botox injected into her face.
Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a type of cosmetic injection that relaxes the muscles by blocking nerve signals, per Cleveland Clinic, making them hard to move.
The injections are commonly used in order to reduce signs of aging and wrinkles.
‘Her forehead is very smooth for someone of her age. I’d be surprised if she hasn’t been utilizing Botox to prevent those lines running across the forehead we all get over time.
‘She also doesn’t have significant banding along her neck, which may be signs of Botox in this area, known as a Nefertiti lift.’
The plastic surgeon also suspected that Zeta-Jones may be receiving Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy on her face, a type of laser treatment used to improve skin tone.
‘One of the things most of us have to combat as we age is “age spots,” also known as hyperpigmentation.
‘While skin care can help slow this process, her skin pigmentation is even enough – she’s likely utilizing IPL or a laser like Erbium to help keep this at bay.’
The Daily Mail reached out to representatives of Zeta-Jones for comment, but has not heard back.
In the past, Zeta-Jones has not publicly spoken about plastic surgery. But she has shared her favorite makeup and beauty products.
In 2020, she shared some of her picks – which included a $195 Mason Pearson hairbrush – with New York Magazine’s The Strategist.
While speaking to the outlet, Zeta-Jones shared that her mom had a Mason Pearson. She added that her mother made her brush her hair 100 times each night before bed if she wanted to have long locks, a rule that the actress still obeys.
Also on the list was Chanel nail polish in a light pink color, and Lumify brightening eye drops.
Zeta-Jones has reportedly been a spokesperson for cosmetics brand Elizabeth Arden since 2002. It is unclear whether she is still in partnership with the brand.
In 2010, Zeta-Jones told Vogue Australia that some of her favorite Elizabeth Arden products included the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant and an eye pencil.
‘Beauty comes from within,’ she told the outlet at the time, adding that ‘a little help from our friends’ doesn’t hurt.
‘I feel most beautiful when I’m just around my family, being myself. I’m relaxed and I don’t have to put on a show or get photographed.
