Here are the nominees for this week’s News & Record High School Football Player of the Week.

Michael Boone Jr., Dudley: The 6-foot, 190-pound junior had 25 carries for a season-high 204 yards and a touchdown as the Panthers earned their second straight win in defeating Ragsdale, 34-18. His previous rushing season high was 74 yards against Southeast Raleigh.
Greyson Council, Northern Guilford: The 6-foot-2, 190-pound target had three catches for 169 yards and two touchdowns (one for 99 yards and one for 67) in the Nighthawks’ 26-21 win over Oak Grove. He was a part of a big-play pass offense that averaged 22.8 yard per reception as part of an offense whose 26 points far-exceeded the Grizzlies’ previous points against average of 8.5 per game and 6.5 in regulation.
Jaxson Kemp, Northern Guilford: The Greensboro area player of the week from the previous game completed 12 of 25 passes for a season-high 274 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. The clutch performance included converting a 4th-and-14 with a pass to Christopher Morrison Jr. during a game-winning drive to give Northern a 26-21 victory over Oak Grove after being down 21-20 prior.
Rakem Hammock, Northwest Guilford: The 2024 all-area selection had seven receptions for a season-high 176 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ 29-27 loss to Mount Tabor.
Ferrell Price, Northwest Guilford: The 6-foot-2, 190-pound junior quarterback was 16 of 28 passing for a season-high 316 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Vikings’ 29-27 loss to the Spartans.
Kendre Harrison, Reidsville: The 6-foot-7, 235-pound Oregon tight end recruit had his biggest statistical splash of the season, with four catches for a season-high 106 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams’ 44-28 win over previously undefeated Walkertown.
Dionte Neal, Reidsville: The UNCG basketball recruit had five carries for 84 yards and had a 46-yard kick return but most notably had two interceptions for 53 yards, with one returned back for a touchdown in the Rams’ 44-28 win over previously unbeaten Walkertown. The interceptions give Neal a team-high three on the season, which expands his Reidsville career record to 20.
Caleb Jackson, Southeast Guilford: The TAAC Six 5A/6A Conference’s leading rusher exploded for a season-high 214 rushing yards and three touchdowns on a season-high 34 carries as the Falcons defeated Glenn, 34-20. The 5-foot-11, 205-pound running back, who primarily played linebacker last year, eclipsed his previous season high of 172 rushing yards set in week one against Western Guilford.
