Commanders Announce Historic Terry McLaurin News

The Washington Commanders took care of business against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, claiming a dominant 41-24 victory at Northwest Stadium.
The Commanders pulled off the win despite the absence of starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was ruled out of the contest with a knee injury.
Veteran signal-caller Marcus Mariota stepped in, completing 15 of his 21 pass attempts for 207 yards and a touchdown. Much of his production went to star wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who reeled in three catches for a team-leading 74 yards.
McLaurin eclipsed 6,528 career receiving yards with this performance, moving him into No. 5 spot on Washington’s all-time list.
McLaurin passed Bobby Mitchell (6,492) and now trails only Art Monk (12,026), Charley Taylor (9,110), Gary Clark (8,742) and Santana Moss (7,867).

McLaurin entered the league as the 76th overall pick in the 2019 draft out of Ohio State. Since recording 919 receiving yards in his rookie season, the former Buckeye standout has eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in each of his next five campaigns.
“WR Terry McLaurin has eclipsed 6,500 receiving yards on his career,” the Commanders wrote in an announcement on social media. “He’s the fifth wide receiver in franchise history to hit the mark and the 15th active receiver with at least 6,500 career receiving yards.

“McLaurin is the 11th receiver in NFL history to record 6,500 receiving yards in 100 career games or less.”
Through the first three games of the 2025 season, McLaurin has 10 catches for 149 yards but no touchdowns. Veteran wide receiver addition Deebo Samuel leads the team in receiving targets, boasting 21 to McLaurin’s 17.
McLaurin nearly notched his first score in Week 3, but was ultimately ruled down inside the 1-yard line. The $96 million wideout and the 2-1 Commanders will face off against the Atlanta Falcons in a Week 4 matchup next Sunday.
