Is the Coolest Thing Made in Michigan from Saginaw or Bay City? Your vote could make it happen.
LANSING, MI – Three locally-made products are among the second-round finalists for the 2025 Coolest Thing Made in Michigan competition.
A Handcrafted Rock Fountain Kit from Blue Thumb in Saginaw, 5125 V-Mac Vicor+ from Fullerton Tool Co. in Saginaw, and Pioneer Sugar from Michigan Sugar Co. with locations in Bay City, Caro, Croswell and Sebewaing are each among 10 creations vying to become the final three manufactured products in the competition.
The second round of voting began Monday, Sept. 22, and will continue through Oct. 1, allowing residents across the state to select their favorites from 10 diverse nominees that showcase the breadth of Michigan’s manufacturing sector.
“The Coolest Thing Made in Michigan showcases the imagination, ingenuity and impact of products made across every corner of our state,” said Delaney McKinley, Michigan Manufacturers Association executive vice president of operations. “We’re looking for the products born of bold ideas and breakthrough innovation that make Michigan a leader in modern manufacturing.”
Other finalists included in this year’s second round include companies from across Michigan with products ranging from omnidirectional wheels to virtual dog leashes to wind tunnels designed for flying bats.
There are the HaloDrive Pods Omnidirectional Wheels from Conceptual Innovations in Albion; the Heel Roam 350 Virtual Dog Leash from Heel in Holland; InfernoWare Dissipate Coating from InfernoWare in Ann Arbor; LED Signs and Lighting from Electro-Matic Visual in Farmington Hills; the PF1000 Prime Focus System from Observable Space in Adrian; the Simple Vision Engineering Suite from Simple Vision Technology in Clarkston; and a Wind Tunnel for Flying Bats from Airflow Sciences Corporation in Livonia.
The competition serves as part of the Michigan Manufacturers Association’s annual celebration of the state’s manufacturing industry, highlighting both innovative products and the people behind them.
The three finalists selected through this round of voting will compete for the top prize, which will be announced during the Manufacturing Excellence Awards gala on Nov. 20 in Lansing.
