Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi chairs review meeting with HMs in Sivaganga

School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said that the department was conducting regular review meetings and carrying out various measures to improve the learning abilities of the students.

He conducted a review meeting for the school head persons of government schools in the Sivaganga district on Monday.

Speaking there, he instructed the District Education Officers and Block Education Officers to regularly inspect school and conduct frequent tests to assess the students’ academic performance.

“Additionally, a review meeting for the State Level Achievement Survey (SLAS) was conducted for headmasters of government and government-aided primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools in Sivaganga district,” he added.

“SLAS was conducted in the district for 7,458 students of grade III from 1,085 schools, 8,207 students of grade V from 1,089 schools, and 8,223 grade VIII students from 500 schools,” Mr. Poyyamozhi said.

In the survey it was assessed that the total achievement rate for students in grades III, V and VIII, in the district was 60.7%, securing the 10th position at State-level, he said.

He instructed the teachers and officials to improve the district ranking by continuously training and valuating the students.

Mr. Poyyamozhi along with Minister for Cooperation K.R. Periyakaruppan inaugurated a newly installed LED screen system worth ₹8.70 lakh at the conference hall of Maruthapandiar Government Higher Secondary School.
