Sonam Kapoor's 500 Carat Tanzanite Necklace Exuded Victorian Charm At London Fashion Week

Global style icon and Indian actress Sonam Kapoor attended Erdem Moralioglu’s Spring 2026 showcase in an Amrapali Jewels necklace set celebrating the intricate craftsmanship of polki diamonds with the elegance of Victorian design.
Set in silver and gold and enhanced with diamonds and tanzanite, the Victorian Polki necklace features almost 500 carat tanzanite gemstones. Exuding old antique charm, the masterpiece tells a story of innovation and tradition.
Each tanzanite gemstone stood out in this opulent necklace, making it the perfect heirloom piece to have this festive season. Sonam Kapoor paired the necklace with earrings featuring a tanzanite stud enhanced with pearl drop detailing. Celebrating Indian artistry with a contemporary allure, the necklace set is a testament to Amrapali’s dedication to unparalleled craftsmanship and heritage.
The alluring hue of the tanzanite gemstones beautifully matched the intricate Godawan bird motifs in deep cobalt blue on Sonam’s custom Erdem gown. The Great Indian Bustard, lovingly known as the Godawan, is now a Critically Endangered Bird on the IUCN Red List.

The gown carrying the Godawan bird artwork paid tribute to the extraordinary recovery of the Great Indian Bustard population, from 100 when the initiative began to protect the birds to 173 today through the efforts of Diageo India.
Sonam not only celebrated legacy craftsmanship but also spotlighted the urgent need for conservation of one of the world’s most critically endangered species, making this not just a red-carpet moment, but a cultural statement.

Grateful to be a part of a story where craft, culture and conservation come together.”
