The Kapoor clan has always had a flair for the spotlight, and now another member of the iconic family is showing signs of carrying that legacy forward. While Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, daughter of the late superstar Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, gears up for her own Bollywood acting debut with her first film tentatively titled Dadi Ki Shaadi (DKS) alongside Neetu and comedian Kapil Sharma, it’s her daughter Samara Sahni who has stolen the limelight with her impromptu YouTube “launch.”
In the latest episode of Farah Khan’s popular vlog, the filmmaker, accompanied by her much-loved cook Dilip, visited Riddhima’s Delhi home to film a cooking segment. After preparing beetroot tikkis together, Farah introduced viewers to Rishi Kapoor’s granddaughter Samara, whom she fondly called “the star of the family.” What followed was pure entertainment.
Samara made her grand entrance from her room with striking confidence, walking straight to the camera like a seasoned performer. She greeted Farah warmly, spoke about her admiration for her “favourites” Ranbir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor, and then, in true star-kid style, asked if she could check the monitor to see how her shot looked. The spontaneous moment left her mother Riddhima both surprised and amused, while Farah immediately quipped, “Oh my god, yeh heroine banegi. Yeh ladki heroine banegi. Pehle usko jaake monitor dekhna hai.”
But Samara wasn’t done. After watching the footage with the cameraman, she noticed her hair looked wet and promptly suggested a reshoot. Farah laughed and agreed, officially declaring, “Samara, so I can officially say that I have launched you. After Rakhi Sawant, Malaika Arora, Deepika Padukone and Dilip, now I have launched Miss Samara.” When asked whether she would use the Kapoor surname or Sahni, the young starlet confidently replied, “Sahni.”
The adorable behind-the-scenes antics quickly went viral, with netizens flooding the comments section with praise for Samara’s charm and confidence. One user wrote, “Samara looks all set to join the film industry!!! She looks like a perfect mix of her Naani and Maamajee.” Another added, “She’s so unapologetically herself. I hope she never changes.” Many described her presence as “wholesome” and her energy “purely entertaining.”
Samara’s enthusiasm also ties back to her long-time dream of acting. On an earlier episode of Karan Johar’s Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives, Riddhima had revealed that her daughter wants to become an actor someday, with Ananya Panday as her favourite in the industry.
For now, while Riddhima prepares for her big-screen debut and Ranbir continues to dominate with films like Ramayana, Raha Kapoor’s cousin Samara has already given fans a glimpse of the next generation of Kapoors. Judging by this playful YouTube debut, the young starlet might just be one to watch in the years ahead.
