CLEVELAND, Ohio — Great Lakes Science Center is dialing up the thrills for its fall DOME Movies After Dark series, presenting a trio of films sure to get the adrenaline pumping.
The lineup kicks off with screenings of “Sinners” on Oct. 23 and 30. Ryan Coogler’s supernatural horror film stars Michael B. Jordan as twin brothers who open a juke joint targeted by some unwelcome — and thirsty — vampires.
“Top Gun: Maverick” soars into the museum Nov. 20, with Tom Cruise reprising his role as Capt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell in the long-awaited sequel to the 1986 summer blockbuster.
Marvel’s “The Avengers” closes out the series Dec. 18. The film, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Ironman, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, was partially filmed in Cleveland.
Films are presented in the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater, which features a six-story-high screen and an 11,600-watt digital sound system.
Showtime is at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10.95 for adults and $8.95 for children ages 2 to 12 — though “Sinners” is rated R. The museum’s extended Thursday hours give moviegoers a chance to check out the exhibits before the film. Combined tickets are priced at $24.95 for adults and $19.95 for kids.
