Nerf fans have a terrifying treat in store when a zombie apocalypse takes over a Lanarkshire shopping mall. The hugely successful spine-chilling event ‘Terminal Infection’ is returning to Centre West in East Kilbride this Halloween weekend. Run by Foam Dart Thunder this award-winning immersive challenge has been popular in Ocean Terminal in Edinburgh and the city’s St James Quarter. Participants can battle it out, with some zombies thrown in, at the ‘Dawn Patrol’ events – which will happen after closing hours – on Saturday, November 1 between 8pm and 10pm. There will be team and individual games, including fan favourite ‘Infected’ with 30,000 darts and Rival rounds. Owner of Foam Dart Thunder, David Nimmo, said: “It’s a family event and encourages kids to get off technology for a couple of hours and run about crazy trying to avoid our zombies and playing in an environment they wouldn’t normally be allowed to. “We have professional zombie actors who attend our events for an added experience. “We have found that it gives youngsters who maybe don’t participate in sports normally a sense of belonging. They are running around and exercising without even realising while doing something they enjoy. It’s a win, win.” This event is suitable for everyone aged eight and over and mums and dads are encouraged to join in. Anyone under 14 must have an adult on site and available, either playing or spectating. Those attending are asked to bring along their own blasters and make sure you write your name is on all blasters and attachments.
