Strictly Come Dancing's Ross makes emotional admission as he opens up on 'hardest' moment

Strictly Come Dancing star Ross King made an emotional admission as he opened up on the “hardest” moment. The entertainment reporter is part of the new cast that will take part in the hit BBC dancing competition this autumn. During the 2025 launch show, which aired this weekend (September 20), Ross was partnered with professional dancer Jowita PrzystaÅ‚ , who first joined the show back in 2021. The pair appeared on ITV’s Lorraine on Monday (September 22), where they updated host Lorraine Kelly on their rehearsals. Ross also made a heartfelt admission as he revealed how much his late father, David, would have loved Jowita. “She was the first professional [I met]. She came up and she gave me a big hug, she was so lovely. And she also made sure that we did the last dance, you know when you do the speed dancing thing, and that was it,” Ross explained. “Can I also just say, you knew my dad, and dad would always say, ‘You can judge a person by how they treat the waiter’. “And this young lady is just an absolute joy. The crews love her, everyone loves her because she is just beautiful inside and out. She’s just that lovely person, and so my dad would be like, ‘How lovely.'” Lorraine then said: “Your dad would be so happy, and your mum would be so happy, my goodness me.” Ross and Jowita will hit the dancefloor for their first solo routine this weekend. They will be dancing the Cha Cha Cha to California Girls by Katy Perry, which honours the US state that Ross has famously lived in for years. Speaking about his ongoing rehearsals, Ross was “lost for words”, adding: “We do still have a week. I think I’m right in saying that the Cha Cha is the hardest.” Jowita continued: “We had already that moment when the day came and nothing was working, and we passed that moment and now each day is just getting better and better. “And for me, seeing Ross when we dance, even our last rehearsals we did, and you got something right, the happiness and the joy… I’m like a cheerleader, it’s amazing.” The professional went on: “Celebrities come from all different backgrounds and have different abilities and that’s okay. But the beauty of that show is to take someone who has no idea and no clue how to dance and then to go out and perform. It’s actually quite overwhelming as well, but beautiful.” Ross then shared: “We’re in this not to win it, because obviously I’m never gonna win it,” with Jowita quickly adding: “Don’t say that.” Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer
