The MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta has been confirmed as the venue for multiple fixtures in this season’s CAF Inter-Club competitions, featuring Nigerian representatives Remo Stars and Kwara United, as well as Comoros champions, US Zilmadjou.
Remo Stars, Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, will play both legs of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie against US Zilmadjou at the Abeokuta ground. The Sky Blue Stars will host the Comoros side on September 21st before returning to the same venue on September 26th for the reverse fixture.

Zilmadjou, whose home stadium was not approved by CAF for international matches, elected to play their “home” leg in Nigeria. The club took a similar route last season when they played Rangers International FC at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Meanwhile, Kwara United will also benefit from the Abeokuta stadium facilities as they prepare to host Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary tie on September 28th.
The development further highlights the MKO Abiola Stadium’s growing relevance as a neutral and reliable venue for continental competitions, providing a platform for Nigerian and visiting clubs to showcase their talent on the African stage.
