APC-UK Mobilizes Diaspora Capital For National Transformation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) United Kingdom Chapter, in partnership with the Nigerian Diaspora Investment & Cultural Alliance (NDICA), will host the “APC-Diaspora Economic Forum” in London on November 6th and 7th, 2025.

The event, an engagement with the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawa Yilwatda, aims to mobilize diaspora expertise and capital for Nigeria’s national transformation, according to a statement on Saturday.

The two-day forum, the statement said, will feature a comprehensive agenda designed to foster dialogue and action on critical areas of Nigeria’s development.

Day one, themed “Mobilising Diaspora Expertise and Capital,” will focus on Nigeria’s investment landscape, with presentations on the economic policy framework, investment reforms, and incentives for Foreign Direct Investment.

It added that key discussions will include an interactive question-and-answer session with Nigerian government officials, including the chairman, governors, and ministers, and a business matchmaking session to facilitate interactions between diaspora investors and Nigerian government and private sector partners.

The forum’s “Focus Areas” will include: infrastructure, agriculture, energy, information, communication technology, manufacturing, and the creative Industry.

Day two, titled “Driving Skills Repatriation & Sustainable Growth,” will delve into issues of ethics, skills repatriation, and innovation.

The agenda includes a book presentation by Senator Abu Ibrahim and a panel discussion on “Harnessing Diaspora Expertise & Skills Repatriation.”

The session will focus on opportunities in the housing sector for returning professionals and feature contributions from diaspora professionals and government officials, the statement added.

The forum will conclude with a session on “Creative Industries & Innovation Ecosystem,” with presentations on investment opportunities and fostering partnerships.

A key outcome of the forum is the proposed “Diaspora Investment and Skills Repatriation Desk,” which will be presented and discussed on Day Two to track investment commitments and facilitate liaison. The event will culminate in a Gala Night and Awards Ceremony, including a special award for Professor Yilwatda.

The forum is a strategic effort to leverage the resources and skills of the Nigerian diaspora, which contributes significantly to the national economy through remittances and expertise.
