'Shah Rukh Khan And I Will Always Help Each Other’s Kids’: Bobby Deol On Love For Aryan Khan's Family | Exclusive

Bobby Deol started his career as a leading man with Barsaat in 1995 and immediately caught Shah Rukh Khan’s attention. At the trailer launch of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds Of Bollywood, Shah Rukh revealed that right before the release of Barsaat, he saw Bobby’s poster near Juhu Beach in Mumbai. He thought Bobby was ‘handsome’ and added he wanted to become a ‘superstar’ like him someday. The duo may not have worked together in a film together but then Class Of ’83 happened.
Having suffered a period of lull, when Bobby was trying to mark his second innings as an actor, it was Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment that offered him the lead role in Class Of ‘83, which marked Bobby’s OTT debut. And now, Bobby is an important part of The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, he highlights how despite being a superstar’s son, Aryan remains down-to-earth much like his father.
“Shah Rukh’s a humble man, who’s very sure of himself. He doesn’t need the acknowledgement of the world for that. That’s why he is what he is. And that’s exactly how Aryan is. There’s so much similarity between them in that manner,” Bobby tells us. Recalling Shah Rukh’s words from the trailer launch, he says, “It was very sweet and nice of Shah Rukh to say that when he saw my banner, he found me very good looking and that he loved my sunglasses, which I’m still very confused about – if they were blue or purple.”

Lauding Shah Rukh’s grace and kindness, Bobby adds that he’s confident that he’ll be always be there for his sons too – Aryaman and Dharam. “He didn’t need to tell me that but woh toh uska badaappan hai. When someone like him gives you so much importance and love, it really feels good. He feels those feelings towards me more so because I’m a part of his son’s first-ever show. Both of us know how important it is to be there for our kids,” states the Animal and Race 3 actor.
Not just Shah Rukh, Bobby values his whole family too and holds them very close to his heart. “Shah Rukh and I started our careers at the same time. I’m lucky to have known him in my life and his son, who I love so much. I’ve a lot of respect for Aryan as a director and human being. It feels really nice to know that family. We also know that it’s important to help and support each other’s kids in whichever manner we can,” he shares.
Bobby further praises Aryan for taking his inputs seriously during the shoot of The Ba***ds Of Bollywood. And he attributes his drive and discipline to his parents, Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan. “I haven’t seen Aryan so much as a child, but I saw him over the years as he was growing up. I think he has shaped up to be a really good young man. Hats off to Gauri and Shah Rukh for bringing Aryan and the other kids (Suhana Khan, AbRam Khan) up so well” he says.
