Kodungaiyur Police arrested four persons, including a functionary of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), for allegedly threatening to kill a district-level functionary in Tiruvallur and planning to execute a plan with the help of accomplices.
According to police sources, Prabhu of Muthamizh Nagar, Kodungaiyur is a district-level functionary in Tiruvallur district and also runs an aquarium business. Ilango alias Ilangovan was upset with him since he was given a low-level post in the party. On September 7, he went to the house of Prabhu and abused him for not giving him a good post in the party. Ilangovan repeatedly called and threatened to kill him. Following this, Prabhu lodged a complaint with the Kodungaiyur police.
The police arrested four men including Ilangovan, 44, of Madhavaram and his accomplices- Ranjith, 38, of Madhavaram, Vignesh Kumar alias Solomon, 24, of Avadi and Anand Babu, 24, of Veerapuram. Police said Ilangovan was planning to kill Prabhu and also paid Ranjith to engage hirelings for that purpose.
