The Confederation of Indian Industry’s Puducherry chapter has welcomed the decision of the government to initiate legislations to make the Union Territory an industry-friendly destination.
Welcoming the passing of the Puducherry Ease of Doing Business (Service Delivery) Bill in the recently-convened session of Puducherry Assembly, Samir Kamra, chairman of CII, Puducherry chapter said, “the pathbreaking legislation was formulated after extensive consultation with industry representatives.”
“The passing of the Bill, reflects the government’s commitment to reduce compliance burden, simplifying approvals and creating an investor-friendly environment. The CII is grateful to the government for adopting many of its key recommendations, paving the way for greater investment, innovation and employment opportunities in the Union Territory,” he said.
The chairman further said that the CII was looking forward to continuing its close partnership with the government to strengthen the region’s manufacturing ecosystem and economic growth.
