This week, YouTube launched the Made on YouTube presentation sharing details on what new creator tools are coming, celebrating what’s been created and succeeded, and other facets of the platform. During that presentation, the group also claimed it has paid out over $100 billion to creators in the last four years.
YouTube posted its Made on YouTube 2025 content on its blog website this week. There, the group made its claim about how much it has paid out:
YouTube attributed part of the surge in payouts to the growing popularity of the platform on internet connected TVs and services. The group claimed that TV screen viewership was at the core of a 45 percent year-over-year increase in channels that made over $100,000.
This claim comes as creators have been vocal about dropping views and payouts from YouTube in the last few months. It was such an outcry that leadership was eventually forced to address the matter and try to explain why viewership had fallen.
While Made on YouTube is a yearly occurence, the stats attached to this year’s presentation seem directed at the distress over lower viewership. Flaunting its payouts likely isn’t the answer creators were hoping for, but it will remain to be seen if YouTube addresses the matter further. Stay tuned to the YouTube topic for more news and updates on the matter.
