Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers: Game matchup
The NFC West Division will keep a little extra clarity on Sunday with its only two unbeaten teams going head to head in Santa Clara. The Cardinals enter with a 2-0 record with wins over two teams in the New Orleans Saints (20-13) and Carolina Panthers (27-22) who both could end up picking early in the 2026 NFL Draft. But Arizona still managed to take care of business in winnable games and showed a bend-not-break style of defense that held both Carolina and New Orleans to less than five yards per offensive play. That showed up last week against the Panthers, who rolled up 26 first downs, but needed 55 pass attempts to get 328 yards.

The 49ers also have a win over the rebuilding Saints (26-21) this season as part of their own 2-0 start. San Francisco went into Seattle in Week 1 and left with a 17-13 division win, then handled the Saints last week despite losing quarterback Brock Purdy to a toe injury for an unclear amount of time. Purdy will not play Sunday against Arizona in San Francisco’s home opener, with Mac Jones set to make his first starter in a 49ers uniform. San Francisco is a narrow 1.5-point home favorite over Arizona on Sunday with that Purdy injury threatening the explosiveness of the 49ers offense.
The Cardinals and 49ers are set for a 4:25 p.m. ET start on FOX. Live streams are available from FuboTV (free trial), DirecTV (free trial), and SlingTV (low intro rate).
