Black Rabbit Cast: Here's Where You've Seen The Stars Of Netflix's New Crime Thriller Before

Since it premiered on Netflix this week, Black Rabbit has already proved hugely popular with viewers – thanks in no small part to its impressive cast of established A-listers and up-and-coming names.

The crime thriller follows the owner of a New York bar, named Black Rabbit, whose life gets turned upside down when his chaotic brother returns to the city.

If you’re wondering where you recognise one or two members of the talented cast from, here’s a quick reminder…

Jude Law plays Jake, the charismatic owner of Black Rabbit, which is the latest in a long line of leading roles in his three-decade career.

The British actor has been a household name since his star-turning performance in Anthony Minghella’s The Talented Mr Ripley, which earned him an Oscar nomination. Since then, he has had a long and illustrious career that has seen him in all kinds of roles, ranging from Christmas rom-com The Holiday to playing Watson in Guy Ritchie’s action-filled Sherlock Holmes and a controversial religious leader in The Young Pope.

Most recently, he appeared in Disney+ Skeleton Crew as the space pirate Jod Na Nawood. Jod isn’t his first venture into the world of franchises, though, as he previously played a young Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts and Yon-Rogg in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Black Rabbit also reunites June with Zach Baylin, the screenwriter of The Order, in which he played an FBI agent tracking down a white supremacist group.

Jason Bateman

Jason Bateman, who plays Jake’s troublemaker brother Victor, is best known for his recent work in hit Netflix crime drama Ozark.

Despite this darker role, Jason is mostly associated with his work in the world of comedy, most notably playing Michael Bluth in Arrested Development. His other comedic roles include Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief and Game Night.

Most recently, he was seen in the Netflix action thriller Carry-On as a mercenary giving instructions to Taron Egerton’s TSA worker.

Jason is also an award-winning director, helming the opening two episodes of Black Rabbit, and scooping an Emmy for his efforts behind the camera on Ozark.

Cleopatra Coleman

Cleopatra Coleman, who stars as the esteemed interior designer Estelle, was previously best known for her role as Erica Dundee in the comedy series The Last Man On Earth before being cast in Black Rabbit.

You may also have seen the Australian actor in Dopesick, White Famous or Infinity Pool, in which she shared the screen with Alexander Skarsgard and Mia Goth.

Her most recent major role was playing Devra Bloodaxe in Zack Snyder’s critically-panned space opera, Rebel Moon.

Dagmara Dominczyk

Polish-American actress Dagmara Dominczyk has had a long career in film and TV, but is probably most recognisable for playing PR head Karolina in all four seasons of Succession.

Dagmara’s other notable roles include starring as Priscilla Presley’s mother in Sofia Coppola’s recent biopic, playing Mrs Callaghan in Bottoms and appearing as Erika in the Netflix drama We Own This City.

Black Rabbit, in which she plays a rich New York philanthropist and Jake’s ex-wife, is Dagmara’s second high-profile TV role this month. She also has a supporting role in the new Apple TV+ thriller The Savant, alongside Jessica Chastain, which is slated for release at the end of September.

Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù

TV devotees will no doubt recognise Ṣọpẹ́ for his role as Elliot in Gangs Of London or, more recently, as Sean in Slow Horses.

As well as his TV work, Ṣọpẹ́ also has a number of film roles under his belt, starring in the underrated 2020 horror His House and 2025′s The Gorge, alongside Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, as well as My Father’s Shadow, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

Chris Coy already has a stacked CV, which includes starring as L.P. Everett in Treme, Martin in The Walking Dead, Calvin in Banshee and Paul in The Deuce.

His more recent roles have included The Peripheral and Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and he is also currently filming the upcoming DC Studios series Lanterns, based on characters from the Green Lantern comics, alongside Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre.

Troy Kotsur

Troy Kotsur is best known for his Oscar-winning turn in 2021’s Coda, in which he played the deaf father of a musician daughter.

Before this film, he was a prolific stage actor and worked behind the scenes in the industry, including on The Mandalorian, helping develop a special Tusken sign language for the alien race in the Star Wars spin-off.

Since his role in Coda, Troy has played himself in Curb Your Enthusiasm in a memorable episode which saw him feuding with Larry David on a golf course, and starred as Preem Palver in the Apple TV+ sci-fi epic Foundation.

Before moving into acting, Abbey had been more accustomed to walking the runaways of the world.

The Australian former model made the move from Vogue to the big screen with 2011’s Mad Max: Fury Road, where she played one of Immortan Joe’s wives, called The Dag.

Since starring alongside Tom Hardy in the Mad Max sequel, she has had roles in Gods Of Egypt, The Dark Tower and Killer Heat. Her most recent film role was in Kevin Costner’s indulgent cowboy flick Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1.

Black Rabbit isn’t her first major TV credit, either, as she also starred in Lovecraft Country and Waco: The Aftermath.

Odessa Young

Odessa Young is poised to become a household name with her upcoming role as Bruce Springsteen’s love interest in the biopic Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, alongside Jeremy Allen White.

Her past roles include starring alongside Jacob Elordi in the war drama The Narrow Road To The Deep North, Colin Firth in the crime drama The Staircase and playing Frannie in the 2020 adaptation of The Stand.

Her film roles include Shirley, A Million Little Pieces and Mothering Sunday.

Robin de Jesús

Robin de Jesús is as known for his Tony-nominated roles on stage as he is for his appearances on the small screen.

On Broadway, he appeared in In The Heights, Le Cage Aux Folies, and Wicked. Off-stage, he appeared in the Netflix musical Tick, Tick… BOOM!, Ryan Murphy’s adaptation of the play The Boys In The Band and the recent TV drama Welcome To The Chippendales.

Amir Malaklou

Amir Malaklou plays Naveen, who invests in Jake’s business, one of his biggest projects to date.

Before being cast in Black Rabbit, Amir had minor roles in TV shows like Evil, The Old Man and The Fosters.

While he hasn’t yet reached household name status in the world of film and TV, he did have a run on Broadway playing Aseef in The Kite Runner.

Don Harvey is a veteran of film and TV at this point, and is probably best known for his work playing either cops or criminals.

He found fame playing a corrupt police officer in Brian de Palma’s Untouchables, before landing roles in Casualties of War, Die Hard 2 and The Thin Red Line.

More recently, he’s played Danny in The Deuce, John in We Own This City and Anthony in Pam & Tommy.

Steve Witting

Steve Witting started his career playing Bert, the nerdy friend of his Black Rabbit co-star Jason Bateman’s character David Hogan in the iconic ’80s sitcom Valerie. In fact, Steve regularly appears on screen alongside his real-life close friend Jason, playing small (but memorable!) roles in the likes of Identity Thief, Game Night and Ozark.

He has also appeared in some of the most iconic sitcoms of all time, including Family Matters, Malcolm In The Middle and 30 Rock.

Since 2022, Steve has appeared as Donnie Shore in Tulsa King alongside Sylvester Stallone, and played Dr James Shoun in 2023’s Killers Of The Flower Moon.

Francis Benhamou

Francis gained praise and award recognition for her role in the 2022 off-Broadway play Prayer For The French Republic.

On TV, she has played Andrea Morales in Daredevil, appeared in one episode of the one-season wonder Dear Edward on Apple TV + and had a small role in Amy Schumer’s Life After Beth.

Gus Birney made her film debut in the romantic drama Here And Now with Sarah Jessica Parker, and has since appeared in TV shows Dickinson, The Mist, and the underrated satirical horror The Shining Vale.

She is also the daughter of actors Reed Birney and Constance Shulman.

John Ales has consistently worked in film and TV for the last 30 years. His first notable role was in 1996’s Spy Hard, but his filmography includes roles in The Nutty Professor and its sequel, Ride With The Devil, and 2001’s Burning Down The House.

His recent TV credits include playing Jules’ father on Euphoria, as well as Sneaky Pete and Station 19. He has also had minor roles in Chicago Hope, CSI: Miami and Bosch.

Forrest Weber

Although Black Rabbit is Forest Weber’s most high-profile role to date, he still has some impressive TV credits to his name.

His past TV work includes guest appearances as Lucas Hobbs in Law & Order, Louis in Castle Rock and Mikey in The Blacklist.
