Nigerian celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has announced a change in venue for her much-anticipated Jollof Rice Festival with Gino, scheduled for Friday, September 12, 2025.
Originally slated to host about 3,000 people, the event has seen overwhelming interest with over 20,000 attendees registering to participate.
This unexpected surge in numbers prompted Hilda and her team to relocate the festival to a larger and more secure venue Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone.
In her announcement, Hilda emphasised that the festival remains completely free of charge, with unlimited servings of food for all guests.
More than just a celebration of Nigerian cuisine, the festival will also mark another monumental attempt by Hilda to etch her name into the Guinness World Records.
She is set to prepare 250 bags of rice in a massive 22,619-liter pot, aiming to achieve the record for the Largest Pot of Nigerian Jollof Rice ever cooked.
Hilda expressed her excitement and readiness ahead of the big day, assuring attendees of a memorable experience that combines food, culture, and history in one grand culinary event.
