    Virgin add thousands of flights for AFL finals

    From Monday, 2000 extra flights bound for Melbourne will be available on return services from Adelaide, Brisbane or the Gold Coast.

    The airline is expected to confirm the extra flights after 5pm on Monday following the semi-final matches this weekend, which include three interstate sides from South Australia and Queensland.

    A Virgin Australia spokesman said it would give interstate footy fans more travel options to see their teams play in Melbourne.

    Additional return services from either Adelaide, Brisbane or the Gold Coast will be confirmed by the airline by 5pm on Monday.

    Virgin Australia is the official airline of the AFL.
