Princess Kate is set to take a major role in the welcoming of US President Donald Trump and wife, Melania, to the UK next week. The president and First Lady will be touching down in Britain on September 16, where the princess and husband, Prince William , are expected to take the lead before being joined by King Charles and Queen Camilla. Mr and Mrs Trump, alongside the senior Royals, are set to attend an open-air greeting and a carriage procession through the grounds of Windsor Castle. READ MORE: Prince Harry’s ‘true feelings’ about King Charles reunion, according to expert The State Visit has however, faced change, as the American couple were forecast to reach Britain on September 17 originally, but are now scheduled to arrive a day early. While the pair are in Britain between September 16 and September 18, they will not take part in any public-facing appearances, the Express said. On the the last day of the trip, it is said Melania will take a look at Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle before meeting with Princess Kate at Frogmore Gardens. Joining a separate engagement with Kate, Melania and the future Queen will meet with Chief Scout Dwayne Fields, and members of the Scouts’ Squirrels programme. Kate, 43, has been President of the Scout Association since 2020. Following this visit, Melania will then travel to Chequers to reunite with her husband as the state visit comes to an end. Princess Kate is set to carry out two official engagements today, September 11. She is set to visit a textile manufacturers in Suffolk and Kent. READ MORE: Prince Harry issues update on Midlands visit Kensington Palace said the Princess of Wales’s visit would “celebrate the unique skill, creativity and craftsmanship of British textile manufacturers.” The palace’s statement reads: “Her Royal Highness’s visit will highlight the rich heritage of the British textile industry and celebrate the joy found in working in the creative industries.” It also said Kate has “long been passionate about the importance of the British textiles industry and its role as part of the UK’s cultural and creative voice.”
