The singer-rapper mentioned that it’s the Indian culture, art and the people he wants to represent at the global fashion stage. “I thoroughly enjoy representing my culture, my people and my art—I’m always thinking about how I can inspire the kids to dream bigger and my fellow artists to take that leap of faith,” he said, explaining, “Today, the hip-hop genre is evolving, growing more inclusive, and the world is taking note of the fact that Indian voices belong at the creative table. The future belongs to people, organisations and communities that believe in the spirit of collaboration and diversity.”
Badshah Shares His Paris Fashion Week Experience
Badshah’s New York Fashion Week appearance comes after he made an appearance at the Mike Amiri show at Paris Fashion Week, sitting in the front row alongside international stars like Steve Harvey, J Balvin and French Montana. Sharing his experience, Badshah stated that it felt like a dream. “A lot of excitement and a little nervousness. It felt good linking up with so many diverse artists and being introduced to newer creative concepts,” the rapper recalled.
Fashion Is A Part Of Badshah’s Identity
While talking about fashion’s impact on his life and career, Badshah revealed that it has never been an accessory to his career but a part of his identity from the very beginning. “Fashion is a part of the storytelling process. It is not really an extension of what I do, but it is who I am. It’s my brand identity,” he stated, adding that fashion is not a byproduct of his career but it is his way of expressing his authentic self.
“I don’t work with stylists much; most of the time I’m curating my fashion looks,” he stated, emphasising that travel gives him a chance to explore new designers and brands and allows him to have a close watch on the global fashion scene.
