Lewis Hamilton Reveals Reason for Iconic Formation with Charles Leclerc at Italian GP

The Tifosi pulled through in huge numbers at the Italian GP and showcased their full support to the Italian team despite their woeful results in recent races. The local fans have a huge affection for the Scuderia and its drivers, regardless of their performance. Lewis Hamilton‘s debut year with the constructor meant that the fans were excited on a whole other level. As such, by the end of the race, the 40-year-old formed Ferrari’s iconic formation on the Monza circuit during the in-lap.

Lewis Hamilton has endured a difficult debut with Ferrari in the 2025 season. The Briton is facing unexpected issues, which are causing him trouble in emerging as a winning force. Regardless, Hamilton had positive feelings after the emotional summer break and hoped to start scoring much better results. However, a brutal five-place grid penalty rendered the 40-year-old unable to compete for a race win.

In the main race of the Italian GP, Charles Leclerc couldn’t hold onto the P3 position, which he had overtaken Oscar Piastri for. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton came from P10 to P6 in the end and ended his day on a positive note. To celebrate the team’s history in the pinnacle of motorsport and the fans’ love towards them, both Hamilton and Leclerc drove together, forming the team’s iconic formation.

The crowd roared with cheers as Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc moved together as a unit. Now, Hamilton explained that it was something really special to showcase the formation on track. The 40-year-old pulled up beside Leclerc and drove together, just as a sign of solidarity and gratitude for the Tifosi. The seven-time champion was extremely delighted to witness such a huge crowd showing up in full force to show their support for the Reds.

I thought it would be really special to do. I pulled up alongside Charles, and ultimately it was just to really show solidarity, to show our gratitude to the tifosi, because they really, really show up in full force this weekend.
