is back for season three with new business, new characters, and a new spin off!
Samuel L. Jackson’s Russell Lee Washington Jr will stop by to meet with Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi before heading off to New Orleans, and the cast is hoping to tag along in the future too.
“Fingers crossed, who doesn’t want to hang out with Sam Jackson in New Orleans!” Martin Starr told us.
Garrett Hedlund, who plays Mitch Keller, said, “the show just never ceases to amaze me with the wonderful cast that comes on and graces us with their presence.”
Series newcomer Bella Heathcote joked, I’m a lot less cool about it because I’m new this season, so I’m like Sylvester Stallone, we have Rocky! We have Sam Jackson, between them the jobs that they’ve done, Robert Patrick, [from] ‘Terminator,’ it’s huge!”
Bella and Garrett spend many of their scenes together as their characters rekindle their romance, and building the chemistry was easy.
“It’s exhausting trying to look compatible with her!” Hedlund said with a laugh. Bella added, “Somehow that was just so easy when I paid my acting coach,” saying that in reality, Hedlund is a “dream, it was just easy from day one.”
Also joining the season is Kevin Pollak, who plays Agent Musso, a fed that wields some power over Dwight, but not without a little of the actor’s comedic ability.
“The character of Agent Musso is a bit dry as a way to be more authoritative and I wanted to undermine that a bit,” Kevin said. “So fortunately for me and my enjoyment of working, I met an icon in Sylvester Stallone who was overly generous, incredibly giving but also a surprising sense of humor that only inspired meI didn’t want the character as someone who tries to be funny but has a sense of humor about being a tough guy going toe to toe with an obvious planet of a tough guy.”
Returning for her second season on the show is Dana Delany as Dwight’s girlfriend, Margaret Devareaux, who dips her toe into politics this time around.
“It’s actually on Dwight’s behalf that she gets into politics because he’s going to need a little political pull to be the king of Tulsa,” she said. “What I like about Margaret is she’s quietly doing her own thing behind the scenes, she’s not working for Dwight because she has her own agenda, always!”
Both Dana and Kevin were excited to be part of the show and hope to tag along to New Orleans with Jackson too.
“It’s pretty great to have Samuel L. Jackson all of a sudden in your scene, it’s like wow, how did this happen?” Dana said.
She continued, “Kevin and I have both already pitched to Sam that we should be visiting him in New Orleans.”
“See you in Nawlins!” he added.
