RUGBY FANS, thrill-seekers, and local fundraisers are being called to take part in LauraLynn’s first-ever regional fundraising event, an abseil from the West Stand of Thomond Park on Saturday, September 28. Organised by LauraLynn, Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice, the event invites participants to scale the heights of Limerick’s most iconic stadium, all in support of children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Participants are being asked to fundraise before taking on the abseiling of 42.5 metres from the West Stand of Thomond Park, seeing the stadium from a unique angle. It gives people the chance to do something amazing for a great cause,” said LauraLynn Regional Fundraising Executive, Elaine Buckley. “Whether you’re conquering a fear of heights or just looking for a unique way to give back, this is a brilliant opportunity to support children and families who need us,” added Elaine. A mum of a child who attends LauraLynn said, “When we go to LauraLynn we get to do things as a family, the five of us and that is creating such precious memories. LauraLynn gives us the opportunity to spend much needed quality time with our other two children.” LauraLynn offers a range of care from symptom management and play therapy to respite, counselling, and end-of-life support. Care is delivered in the hospice, in hospitals, in the community, and in family homes across Ireland and is always free of charge.
