ITV Emmerdale star teases 'extraordinary' Christmas drama as she tells fans 'stay tuned'

Emmerdale star Olivia Bromley has teased “extraordinary” Christmas drama as she told fans to “stay tuned”. The 29-year-old actress first arrived in the Dales as Dawn Fletcher back in 2018, where she was introduced as the daughter of Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews). In a tragic turn of events, Will unexpectedly died of a heart attack over Christmas last year, shortly after Joe Tate ‘s (Ned Porteous) reappearance in the village. Joe made his way back to the Dales with a plan to bring down his step-grandmother, Kim Tate (Claire King), who had attempted to murder him six years prior. While grieving the death of her father, Dawn quickly began to suspect Joe was involved. However, her suspicions soon subsided when the pair shared a passionate kiss, before beginning an affair. Earlier this year, Dawn made the tough decision to end her marriage to a heartbroken Billy (Jay Kontzle), who later learned about her affair when Joe threatened Dawn and Billy’s daughter, Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison). It seems as though the drama is set to continue through the upcoming festive period. Speaking on the red carpet at the National Television Awards on Wednesday (September 10), actor Olivia hinted at an exciting Christmas storyline this year. “Extraordinary drama, stay tuned. Twists, turns, soap!” she said. The star also opened up on the prospect of Dawn staying with bad boy Joe after leaving her “stable” marriage to Billy. “Are they gonna stay together? Well, good question. Now, Dawn has obviously swapped in a very stable, loving marriage to someone who’s pretty dangerous and arguably, quite evil,” she explained. “Though she seems to like it, so far it’s working. So, let’s see how long it lasts.” In recent scenes, Dawn was left frustrated with her new partner after learning about his secret plan to bankrupt Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb). “Fake deals, are you serious? So, you’re going to ruin someone’s life just so you can get your hands on some land?” Dawn fumed. Luckily, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) manage to warn Moira off the deal before she signed the papers, with the farmer instead going into business with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins). Will Dawn be on board with Joe’s shady behaviour going forward? Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and is available to stream from 7am on ITVX
