Argentina can become energy security provider to India: Envoy

Argentina can become an Energy Security provider to India which has an endless demand for energy to fuel its economic growth, Argentine Ambassador to India Mariano Caucino said on Friday.Speaking during the “Asia´s Presence in the Americas” Seminar, hosted by the Amity University in Noida, Caucino highlighted the “objective complementarity” between Argentina and Latin American economies and India.“Although we belong to different regions of the world and different cultures, our economies are linked by common interests and cooperation based on mutual benefit,” the envoy explained.Caucino stated that “currently Argentina is a provider of food security for India” and reminded that the South American country is India´s main provider in terms of Soyabean Oil and number three in terms of Sunflower Oil”.The Argentine Ambassador explained that his country “can become an Energy Security provider to India, considering it´s almost endless demand of energy” and affirmed that “Argentina has one of the most important gas reserves in the World (talking of the gas field of “Vaca Muerta” in the southern state/province of Neuquen)”.Live Events“India is today Argentina´s sixth main trade partner”, the envoy stated. Caucino sayed that trade between the two nations has reached a level of five billion US dollars.The envoy explained that “India is becoming more and more important for everybody since its remarkable achievements”. Caucino emphasized that “with the largest population in the world and one of the top five economies, India is increasingly becoming a global player” and that “Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has asserted itself as a responsible voice on the international stage and continues to grow in influence.Caucino stated that Argentina and India have been enjoying 75 years of friendship and recalled that since the elevation of the bilateral link to the status of “strategic partnership” in 2019, the bonds between the two countries have deepened. Recently, Argentina announced that it will allow Indians with a US visa to enter the country. Caucino highlighted that “This decision will facilitate the entry of Indian citizens into Argentina for tourism. Any Indian holding a valid US visa can now visit Argentina without applying for a separate visa.
