Why Gtext is attempting a Guinness World Record in real estate

Gtext Holdings, parent company of Gtext Homes and Gtext Land, announced a series of major corporate developments at a joint press briefing in Lagos on Friday.

The announcements included the acquisition of a company with a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) license, the launch of a new subsidiary, recognition of long-serving employees, and plans for a Guinness World Record attempt later this year.

Stephen Akintayo, founder of Gtext Holdings and Chairman of SACI Holdings, joined senior executives to outline the company’s growth strategy as it enters its second decade in business.

SEC-licensed acquisition expands investment platform

Gtext confirmed the acquisition of a Nigerian firm with an SEC license covering fund management, asset management, and private equity services.

“This acquisition underscores our commitment to regulatory compliance and investor trust,” said Farouq Usman. “We are awaiting SEC approval for a rebrand, which will position the entity as a stronger platform for diversified investments.”

The deal is expected to allow Gtext to broaden its offerings beyond real estate into regulated financial products, creating new opportunities for local and international investors.

Honouring employee loyalty

The company also celebrated its longest-serving staff, recognising their contribution to Gtext’s growth.

“Our people are our greatest asset,” said Vivian Amaechi. “Their loyalty and dedication have been the foundation of our success.”

The gesture reinforced Gtext’s emphasis on workplace culture and long-term employee retention.

Global clarification: Gtext USA vs Gtext Nigeria

In response to market inquiries, Bukola Lukan clarified that Gtext USA and Gtext Nigeria operate as separate entities, each governed by its own legal and regulatory frameworks.

While both share the same vision, the distinction enables Gtext to adapt to specific market conditions in different geographies.

New subsidiary: Gtext construction

To strengthen its control over project delivery, Gtext unveiled Gtext Construction, a subsidiary that will manage the full construction value chain.

CEO Soonie Osuki said the unit will focus on quality assurance, cost efficiency, and timely delivery. It will also bring to life Gtext’s “Green and Smart” estate concepts, aligning with sustainability trends in African real estate.

Private equity leadership

Akintayo highlighted his expanded role as Chairman of SACI Holdings, a private equity firm that invests across multiple sectors. He said SACI’s investment model has directly supported Gtext Holdings’ recent acquisitions and expansion drive.

“Our private equity structure allows us to identify and grow high-potential businesses,” he explained. “These strategic moves are part of a broader vision to deliver value across real estate, finance, and technology.”

Guinness World Record attempt

Gtext also announced plans to host the Largest Real Estate Conference in the World in a Tent on December 20, 2025.

The event is expected to draw 10,000 physical attendees and more than 100,000 virtual participants.

Organisers said the attempt reflects both the scale of Nigeria’s real estate market and Gtext’s role as an industry leader.

10th anniversary celebration

The announcements coincided with the 10th anniversary of Gtext Homes and Gtext Land, marking a decade of growth in real estate and investment services.

Executives said the milestone is not only a celebration of past achievements but also a springboard for future expansion into new markets and industries.

Positioning for the future

By combining regulatory expansion, new subsidiaries, global reach, and employee recognition, Gtext Holdings is positioning itself as a diversified group with ambitions that stretch well beyond real estate.

“Our journey has always been about scale and sustainability,” Dr. Akintayo said. “As we enter our second decade, we remain focused on innovation, investor trust, and building communities that last.”
