Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Mario Kart World are fighting and it’s more entertaining than the games

There is a rivalry well underway between Sega and Nintendo. The latest trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds took another jab at Nintendo and one of its only Switch 2 titles, Mario Kart World.

The newest Sonic Racing trailer begins with the voiceover stating: “We all know that kart racing game. It’s great, we don’t need to show it to you. But what if you could blast through and race on a whole other level? What if you could warp across different dimensions, fully customize and build out your machine, and compete head-to-head across different platforms?

During this part of the trailer, a blurred-out image of Mario Kart World is shown on screen.

After that, the trailer jumps to an action-packed montage of Sonic and friends racing across tracks across multiple platforms and universes. This is blended with real-world racing footage to make the action even more visceral and intense.

The trailer then jumps once more to a trailer on a desolate road. It states: “Or, uh, what if you want to… Roam around on the open road…”

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on September 25th. Interestingly enough, it will also launch on the Nintendo Switch. The Switch 2 version will come soon, but we’re not sure when. Guess the beef isn’t that strong.

Still, the blatant jabs at Mario Kart World definitely bring the fun. Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned rivalry?
