Kerry Katona has revealed her true feelings about Loose Women, admitting she knew what she was “doing” during her stint on the programme. Speaking on the We Need to Talk podcast, the former Atomic Kitten singer discussed her time on the daytime chat show, even calling ITV her “home” and her “stability”.
She has featured on Loose Women multiple times throughout the years but never as a permanent panellist. However, it appears the I’m A Celeb champion yearns for her days at the TV network, confessing that she “loved it”.
Kerry, who recently spoke out amidst Katie Price’s alleged feud with Princess, explained: “ITV was my home. It was my home, ITV, I loved it. It was like a stability. I loved doing Loose Women because it was regular. I knew where I was going. I knew what I was doing.
“The Iceland adverts, I love stability. I like trying to…I felt like I had a proper normal job, really, a little bit. Does that make sense?”
Kerry seemed to validate her perspective in her column for New! Magazine earlier this year. This comes amid reports that ITV was planning to introduce cuts to save money, including reducing Loose Women to a 30-week schedule.
Additionally, nearly 220 employees’ positions were expected to be eliminated across the channel’s daytime programming, also affecting other major shows including Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, and This Morning.
It hadn’t gone unnoticed by Kerry, who commented that it was a “shame,” though she wasn’t “completely surprised.”
She pointed out that, in a “modern world,” it can be “difficult” for these types of shows to “stay afloat.”
She continued: “People don’t watch live TV like they used to. But saying that, things can always be revived. I’ve been around for many years and am still reinventing myself and coming back stronger, so I don’t think it’s the end for the shows.
“They need to get me on the Loose Women panel. I’d certainly add some spice!”
Meanwhile, the TV star and former singer has also opened up about her romance with new partner Paolo Margaglione. She encountered him on the Channel 4 reality programme Celebs Go Dating and has revealed she “couldn’t be happier”.
Kerry is a mother to five children, sharing daughters Molly and Lilly with former spouse Brian McFadden, Heidi and Max with Mark Croft, and DJ with late partner George Kay. Paolo, meanwhile, is father to two daughters.
Recently, her new beau posted a heartfelt message celebrating her 45th birthday. He uploaded pictures of the couple on Instagram to commemorate the special day.
In one snap, Paolo could be seen posing with Kerry, putting a “Queen” crown emoji over her head and accompanying the image with the words: “Happy Birthday beautiful.”
