Propartners Secures SEC Licenses to Launch Crowdfunding Services in Ghana

Propartners has secured separate licenses from Ghana’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to operate as both a Crowdfunding Intermediary and a Crowdfunding Platform, making it one of the country’s first fully licensed players in the space.

Why it matters

The move positions Propartners to help close Ghana’s small business funding gap and expand access to investment opportunities, while giving entrepreneurs and startups a regulated pathway to raise capital.

With the licenses, Propartners can:

Facilitate fundraising for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and startups through SEC-compliant structures.
Run a crowdfunding platform connecting businesses with investors.
Offer investment opportunities that are transparent, regulated, and accessible.

What they’re saying

“This is a major step forward, not just for Propartners, but for the entire entrepreneurial and investment ecosystem in Ghana,” said CEO Wisdom Anku.

“Our dual licenses from SEC Ghana affirm our commitment to building a credible, secure, and innovative crowdfunding marketplace.”

He added that two major shifts are in sight: closing the small business funding gap and democratizing high-value investing.

The big picture

The SEC’s regulatory framework for crowdfunding is aimed at deepening Ghana’s capital markets, broadening financial inclusion, and empowering local enterprises. With both intermediary and platform licenses, Propartners can deliver end-to-end services — from structuring offerings to running a compliant technology platform.
