Gogglebox has returned to Channel 4 with a brand new series as the stars of the show share their opinions on the latest television programmes. Blackpool’s Sophie Sandiford may appear alongside her brother Pete, though she actually has two additional siblings: another brother called Harry, and a sister named Lucy. Whilst Sophie’s parents, Julie and Paul, don’t typically feature on the programme, Sophie hasn’t hesitated to post pictures with her mum across social media platforms. She and Pete boast a fascinating family link as well – they’re relatives of the Chuckle Brothers, Barry and Paul Elliott. Back in 2019, Paul shared a selfie on social media featuring Pete, Sophie, and their sister Lucy, adding the touching caption “Look who we had a very nice lunch with @pinklarkholme #ProudUncle.” Regarding her living arrangements, Sophie revealed details about her housing circumstances, disclosing that the property initially belonged to Pete before she cunningly claimed it as her own. Speaking to The Metro in 2020, she admitted: “We live in the same house. Pete bought the house and did it up. I sneakily just pitched up with my stuff one day and said, ‘I’m not going home’. That’s how I moved in.” She then delivered an unexpected turn to the story: “Then I bought the house off Pete. So now we still live together but instead of me living with Pete, Pete lives with me”, reports OK! . On the romance front, Sophie is blissfully loved-up with her partner Ben McKeown. The couple wrapped up 2024 in style with a spectacular Vegas getaway, posing beside the famous Las Vegas sign and exploring the breathtaking Grand Canyon. Sophie and Ben first went public with their relationship in April 2022. Sophie encountered a professional blow when Debenhams shut down in December 2020, putting her and countless others out of work. Refusing to let this knock her back, she pivoted towards her love of floristry; following her qualification success, Sophie established her own enterprise, Petali Floristry, in Blackpool. Her business venture didn’t get off to the smoothest start though – as shown by an amusing confession on their Instagram story: “Great start… just nearly binned the keys to the workshop.” On a more intimate level, Sophie’s latest Instagram post honoured her brother Pete’s birthday in November 2024, revealing her tender side alongside her business ambitions.
